| "It's funny how you seem to enjoy your life, when you're happy to be alive." Today at church a song was sung that hit me so hard. It had the line in it, "Today you are saved." Today...today I am saved. Also, God doesn't forget. God doesn't forget you, He doesn't forget me, He never forgets us. Maybe sometimes we don't think He is there b/c He is speaking in a different way than our ears want to hear. Like, when you pray for something and expect your prayer to be answered in a certain way and when it isn't answered that way, you think God has forgotten about you. I think it is kind of like that. God doesn't forget about you, He just has bigger plans...God doesn't forget about you, He just has bigger plans. And so, when you pray for something or when you feel as if God has forgotten you...maybe what you need to do is opoen your eyes...pray instead for the wisdom and the eyes to see what God is doing in your life. The patience to wait and the love to give, even though you may be let down. God has a plan, and you are part of it! | | |
| How naive was i before I wrote this last time?? lol...my goodness...it is amazing how much life can change is 5 short weeks. As I was doing the dishes tonight....I realized I am not the same person i was five weeks ago...and i will not be the same person five weeks later...we are constantly changing aren't we? As humans...God never meant for us to stay the same...He is constantly teaching us...we are constantly screwing up, repenting, coming back to Him and then repeating the cycle right? We are human...we screw up...but, as a Christian I have a choice, I can keep up the screwing up...just let it spiral downwards, or else, I can choose to hold to my Heavenly Father...I can choose to come back to Him, to take the gift He so freely gives and to accept His loving, gracious beauty. The beauty of God is that no matter how many times you screw up...He still loves you. That is why every sin is the same in His eyes, it doesn't matter if you lied to someone or if you robbed a bank, every sin is the same in His eyes because He will still forgive you. He will still forgive you and even more, he will still love you regardless of what you do. Mercy, defined by a man I respect a lot, "is treating someone better than they deserve to be treated"...isn't that what God is doing everyday? And He doesn't do it b/c he feels he has to, he does it b/c he loves his children...unconditionally, no strings attached...GOD LOVES YOU! beautiful...unfortunately we tend to forget that...or else deny it...sometimes you feel so bad about yourself and what you've done that you don't feel like God could ever forgive you or even more...love you. So...you do what most americans do...you back off...you try to put that part of your life out of your head. The problem is, God doesn't go away, He is everywhere and He loves you. He desires your heart and to let you know that he forgives you and he loves you. So, you made a mistake, big whoopie, that doesn't mean that He can't use you anymore. Jsut because you made one mistake, or a couple more than that, does not mean that you are useless to the body...you may have had an infection, but that can be quickly and easily fixed by the true Doctor...the one who brings healing to the heart. Instead of your first reaction being to runaway from God and spiral farther and farther down, may it be to run into his open arms. May you cry on his shoulder, and allow him to cry with you. May you realize that He loves you more than you could ever imagine...His love surpasses all uunderstanding and it is a love that you can have. He has his hand out right in front of you. All you have to do is take it...recieve his love, mercy, grace...allow him to love you and to heal your brokenness...If there is one thing I have learned since leaving and "spreading my wings" it is that my Heavenly Father loves me...unconditionally...and it is beautiful :) | | |

| "If you believe something, passionately, people will follow you. People hardly care what you believe, as long as you believe something. If you are pasinate about something, people will you because they think you know something they don't, some clue to the meaning of the universe. Passion is tricky, though, because it can point to nothing as easily as it points to something...What people believe is important. What people believe is more important than how they look, what their skills are, or their degree of passion. Passion about nothing is like pouring gasoline in a car without wheels. It isn't going to lead anybody anywhere...what I believe is not what I say I believe;
what I believe is what I DO."

And now...to the shores of Stony Lake I go...one week...a time set apart for God and good Christian fellowship...a time to watch God work in the hearts of beautiful girls and boys. A time to laugh and play and be active. A time to cry, repent and be refreshed. That is my prayer...that we will have a safe week devoted to our Lord. That God will break my girls, that we will be vulnerable, but encouraging to eachother. I pray that this week changes lives and not only the lives of the campers, but those of us counselors as well.
Here We Go...God Take Control of This Week!!!
...ill miss you!
HERE I COME!!!
-Please pray for the week, the staff, the speaker, the students and the counselors :) | | |
